Basil Shaikhly, D.D.S

Board Certified Endodontist

Dr. Basil Shaikhly graduated from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry where he received numerous awards along with the distinction of being the valedictorian of his class.

Dr. Shaikhly practiced as a general dentist and gained valuable experience as a restorative dentist before deciding to seek his specialty training in endodontics. He has great empathy for patients suffering with dental pain and ultimately this guided him to become an endodontist. He feels that, “dental pain is one of the most severe suffering a human being can experience” and takes great pride in his ability to help alleviate patients’ pain and help them retain their natural teeth.

Dr. Shaikhly served as an educator at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry and enjoys teaching others to promote the advancement of dentistry and society in general. After private practice and teaching in San Francisco, Dr. Shaikhly completed his post-graduate studies and training at the Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry Postgraduate Endodontic program. He was finally back in Texas where he always knew in his heart that he wanted to be!

Dr. Shaikhly is very passionate about endodontics and collaborating with other dentists in his area. He encourages all his patients and colleagues to feel free to reach out to him in person and he is excited to be a part of the Denton dental community and to positively contribute in saving natural teeth, managing dental pain, and treating endodontic diseases!

In his leisure time, Dr. Shaikhly enjoys spending time with his wife and young twin boys. They enjoy exploring nature and the outdoor attractions DFW has to offer and swimming and table tennis are some of the sports that get him charged up!
