Meet the Doctor

Alex Fitzhugh, D.D.S.


Dr. Alex Fitzhugh received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The University of Arkansas and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Tennessee.

Dr. Fitzhugh completed a two year postgraduate program in Endodontics at Rutgers University in New Jersey. While at Rutgers he also completed a comprehensive training program in implant dentistry from the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

Dr. Fitzhugh believes in minimally-invasive endodontics and appreciates the importance of ensuring thorough disinfection of the root canal systems while maintaining adequate tooth structure to allow for placement of a proper long-term restoration. He incorporates the best technology available in Endodontics today including cone beam CT and the dental operating microscope to aid in his endodontic diagnosis and treatment planning, which ultimately allows him to perform the best endodontic care possible.

Outside of the office, Alex enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is an avid outdoorsman and sports fan who enjoys playing soccer, football, and golf in his free time.

He currently holds Board-eligibility status from the American Board of Endodontics and continues to make progress towards ABE Board Certification.

During his tenure at both Rutgers University and University of Tennessee, Dr. Fitzhugh received many accolades for both his work in the classroom and in clinic. He is an award winning researcher that has presented his studies nationally and has been featured in both journal articles and online research reviews.
